Your PowerMate computer is configured to go into a power-saving state, or sleep mode, when the system has been inactive, if the inactivity timeout has been set. When the system is in sleep mode, your work is saved, and power to peripherals including the hard drives and the monitor is reduced. The sleep mode is a convenient way of conserving energy when you are going to be away from your system for a short period of time.
If your system is running Windows® 2000, you can bring your computer out of sleep mode in the following ways:
  • pressing a keyboard key
  • lightly pressing and immediately releasing the power/sleep button on the system unit.
You can also enable your mouse to bring the system out of sleep mode.
