Versa 2700 Series Hard Drive Upgrade

Caution   ESD precautions and proper handling procedures must be observed in order to prevent damage to system components.


At the present time this systems hard drive can be upgraded to include these hard drives

  • 2.1 GB (9.5mm)
  • 3.2 GB (9.5mm)
  • 4.0 GB (12.7mm)
  • 5.1 GB (12.7mm)


Removing/Replacing the Hard Disk Drive Module
The procedure for removing and replacing the hard disk drive module is as follows:

Turn off the computer. Close the LCD cover and turn the unit over.

  1. On the bottom of the system, locate the two (2) screws, toward the front, that hold the palm rest cover in place. Remove the screws and turn the unit back over.
  2. Lift open the palm rest cover and the hard disk drive will be located on the right side of the unit.
  3. Remove the two (2) screws that secure the hard disk drive module to the system unit.
  4. Remove the hard disk drive module. To do this remove the connector from the system board, then lift the hard disk drive module out.
  5. To replace the hard disk drive, remove the four flat screws attaching it to the null hard disk assembly and remove the hard disk drive cable.
  6. To replace the hard disk drive module, reverse the above procedure.
