Windows CE Services Installation With a MobilePro 700/750/770/800 with Windows 95/98

  1. Connect the MobilePro to the first serial port on the customer's computer.
  2. Place the Windows CE CD into the computer. Once inserted, the computer should AutoPlay the CD. If the CD does not AutoPlay, run setup from the root directory of the CD.
  3. Once the CD is initialized this will bring up four options:
    1. Install Microsoft Exchange.
    2. Install Schedule+.
    3. Install Windows CE.
    4. Install Optional Components.
  4. Choose the option to install Microsoft Exchange if prompted when installing Schedule+ or if the customer does not have another e-mail client.
  5. Have the customer install Schedule+ as it will play an active role in syncing the customer's data.
    1. Double click the button to install Schedule+.
    2. Click Continue.
    3. Enter owner's name.
    4. Enter Product ID.
    5. Enter Location where you wish to install Schedule+.
    6. Press the Typical Install button.
    7. Click Ok.
    8. Restart the computer.
  6. Have the customer install Windows CE:
    1. Double click the button to install Windows CE.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Click Yes if customer agrees to licensee agreement.
    4. Enter owner's name.
    5. Choose the path of where to install Windows CE and click the typical installation.
    6. Once completed, will prompt to insure that the MobilePro is connected and turned on. If the MobilePro is still connected and turned on, click start to begin Sync.
    7. Once connection is established, you will be prompted with four options. Choose the option to do single profile.
    8. Will then receive a new window 'Partnership Wizard'. Click next unless no name is specified.
    9. A new dialog box will opened to specify the type of connection. Allow the customer to define the type of connection they wish to have. It is recommended that On Connect be chosen. Options available are:
      • Manual - Sync only when click Sync Now.
      • On Connect - Sync when MobilePro is connected to computer.
      • Continuous - Sync when information needs to be updated.
  7. The MobilePro should now be successfully configured and synced to your computer. After the installation is complete, the customer may be prompted to setup the Schedule+. If prompted, step customer through the Wizard.
