Connecting Using The Infrared Port

You can use your MobilePro's infrared port instead of a serial cable for synchronization, for backup, and for file transfer. To use the infrared port, you need a desktop or notebook computer equipped with its own infrared port, or a printer with an infrared port.
- To initiate file transfer between two MobilePro H/PCs, align their infrared ports, and use the Send To Infrared Receipient command from the File in Windows Explorer. On the second H/PC, use the File 's Receive command.
- To use the IR (infrared) connection to link to your desktop or notebook PC, be sure to select Infrared Port on the PC Connection tab in the Communications Control Panel. To connect, select Start on the taskbar. Select Programs, then Communications, and PC Link.
- The way to initiate single file transfer on your PC may vary. The program "irxfer.exe," is available on the Microsoft Web site (www.microsoft.com) to perform IR file transfer from a Windows 95 desktop computer. Refer to your desktop or notebook computer documentation for instructions on how to setup and use it's infrared port.
