CompuServe



To connect your MobilePro to the CompuServe Internet service, first check with CompuServe on the availability of Windows CE installation software. Manual setup for CompuServe Internet is also possible, but requires you to have an existing CompuServe Internet account.

Use these steps to manually configure your MobilePro's internal modem to access your CompuServe Internet account.
  1. Tap the Start button on the taskbar and then tap Programs. From the sub choose Communication and Remote Networking.
  2. Double tap on Make a New Connection, and name it "CompuServe." Select Dial-Up Connection and tap Next.
  3. From the drop down , select Internal Modem on COM4.
  4. Tap Configure and change the baud rate to 115200 bps, then tap OK.
  5. Tap TCP/IP Settings. On the General tab page make sure Server Assigned IP Addresses is checked. On the Name Servers tab page make sure that Server Assigned Addresses is checked. Then tap OK.
  6. Tap Next to continue to the next page.
  7. Enter your CompuServe access telephone number.
  8. Tap Finish to close the Dial-Up Connection setup.
  9. Open Inbox on your desktop and tap the Services button on the toolbar to open the Options dialog box.
  10. Tap on the Services tab, and press Add…to open the Services list.
  11. Select POP3 Mail and tap on it. Type in a unique Service name (for example, "CompuServe Dial Up") and tap OK.
  12. Fill in the required fields in the Service Definition dialog box. These include:
  13. Tap Finish, or tap Next and select any optional settings you want then press Finish.
