Upgrading the MobilePro 800

Caution   ESD precautions and proper handling procedures must be observed in order to prevent damage to system components.


Upgrading the MobilePro 800 is done by replacing the currently installed ROM module with an upgraded ROM module.

Caution
Adhere to the following guidelines to help prevent data loss.



Removing the MobilePro 800 ROM module.
  1. Save all data to a host PC.
  2. Power off the system.
  3. Close the display panel.
  4. Disconnect any attached peripheral devices.
  5. Lay the MobilePro upside down.
  6. Locate the screws that secure the RAM/ROM bay cover.
  7. Remove the screws and the bay cover with a small screwdriver.
  8. Remove the two screws securing the ROM module.
  9. Disconnect the ROM module from its connector and remove it from the bay.


Replacing the MobilePro 800 ROM module.
  1. Save all data to a host PC.
  2. Power off the system.
  3. Close the display panel.
  4. Disconnect any attached peripheral devices.
  5. Lay the MobilePro upside down.
  6. Locate the screws that secure the RAM/ROM bay cover.
  7. Remove the screws and the bay cover with a small screwdriver.
  8. Gently place the ROM module inside the bay until secure.
  9. Slowly tighten the two placement screws.
  10. Replace the RAM/ROM bay cover and tighten the placement screws.
