PowerMate 2000 (Celeron®) SO-DIMM Installation
SO-DIMM Installation Instructions
- Close all programs and shut the system down.
- Turn the system unit on its side exposing the bottom.
- Locate and remove the access cover by removing the retaining screw and lifting the cover up.
- Align the notch in the module with the key in the empty slot,and
holding the module at a 45-degree angle insert the module into the slot.
- Firmly push the module into the socket, then press down on the edge
of it until the plastic clips snap into place.
- Replace access cover and retaining screw.
- Plug in the AC adapter power cord and press the power on the system unit.

Jumper Settings
If there is a need to clear the password, set jumper
7F4 as follows.
- Wake a system in sleep mode, save and close any open applications,
close Windows, power down, and unplug the system’s AC power
adapter and any external options.
To prevent damage to the system board, do not
clear your password while power is on.
- Remove the access panel from the bottom of the system unit.
- Locate jumper 7F4. On the jumper block, jumper to the right.
- Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to clear your password.
- Place the jumper back on pins 1 and 2.
- Replace the access panel, plug in the AC power adapter, and power
up the system.
- At the startup screen, press F2 to open the BIOS Setup utility.
Navigate to the Security and set your new password.
