Question:
My system will not power up after I allowed the batteries to fully discharge.
Answer: On MobilePro systems, which both batteries have fully discharged, the user must perform a hard reset after charging the batteries for approximately 10 hours to ensure proper operation.
If the systems fails to power on the user must perform a "hard" reset to initialize the power management circuitry.
Caution:Do not spray any cleaning fluids or foam directly onto the MobilePro
unit.

Question:
When using a Windows CE device, why I am unable to use the system after the error message: Not enough free space to delete 'filename'?

To resolve this issue, use one or more of the following methods.
Empty the Recycle Bin
Use the following steps to empty the Recycle Bin:
Depress the "Alt" key and tap the Recycle Bin.
Tap "Empty Recycle Bin"

Tap "Properties".
Tap the check box for "Do not move file to the Recycle Bin, remove immediately on delete".
To make additional space available for the Recycle Bin.

Question:
Why do I get the following "Fatal Application Error" error when using my MobilePro:
"Application filesys.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists contact the program vendor."
Clicking on the Ok causes the system to perform a "hard reset".
Answer: This problem may occur if the user allows the batteries to discharge to a state where the MobilePro must shut itself down. This state may cause the system storage memory to become unstable requiring a "hard" reset after the system has been fully charged again. Failure to perform the hard reset may result in data loss at a later time. The user manual states that if you receive a message indicating that the batteries are low, immediately connect the AC adapter to the device.
The solution is to perform a "hard" reset after fully charging the internal batteries, and then install the service packs, software updates and user software.
Question:
Why do I get the error message: "Unable to establish a secure connection"?
Answer: This error can occurs because the VeriSign Certificate Authority (CA) has changed the hashing algorithm that is used for new Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server certificates from Message Digest 5 (MD-5) to Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA1).
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft for Windows CE 2.11 and Pocket Explorer 3.0 this fix can be found at:

Question:
What is the MobilePro 770 and 800 MP77_UPDATE.CAB?
Answer: NEC Computers has developed this update file to address several service issues with MobilePro 770 and 800 handheld personal computers.
To assure proper operation, NEC Computers strongly recommends that you update your MobilePro 770 and 800 systems immediately by installing this file according to the installation instructions.
First, download MP77_UPDATE.CAB to either your HOST or MobilePro system. It must be manually loaded onto your MobilePro by either using a dial up connection, PCMCIA Flash card, or from a connected PC before continuing with the installation.
To install the MP77_UPDATE.CAB file, follow these steps:
Note: An out of memory error message will be displayed if you attempt to install this file twice.
Back up your MobilePro data and configuration using the Microsoft ActiveSync backup procedure. For details on using ActiveSync, see your MobilePro User's Guide.
Perform a Soft reset on your MobilePro.
Note: Performing a Soft reset does not erase your data. It simply cleans up the memory and refreshes the system registry.
Copy the MP77_UPDATE.CAB file to you MobilePro desktop.
Install the file by double tapping the MP77_UPDATE ICON with your stylus. For proper installation, you MUST accept the default location - \Program Files, by clicking OK.
Perform a Soft reset on your MobilePro.
Once the update file is installed, NECC recommends that you use the ActiveSync backup procedure to again back-up your system. This time your backup will include the update file so you can restore both your data and the update file should either ever be erased.
This file installs updates to the following built-in MobilePro drivers:
StartUI: This driver eliminates a memory leak that reduces user resources.
Bitmap files: Replaces an incorrectly sized bitmap file that can cause the unit to lock up if either "the power on password" or "Display Owner Notes features" are enabled for use.
NOTE: NEC Computers strongly recommends that you update your MobilePro 770 and 800 systems immediately by installing MP77_UPDATE.CAB according to the following instructions.
NOTE: During Installation of this file, you must accept the default installation directory or the updates will not be effective!
For assistance or further information, please call Technical Support at 866-632-8061.
This update file should be installed on all MobilePro 770s and MobilePro 800s.
What are the symptoms of the memory problem?
It is not possible to predict all symptoms because you may have unique data or software on your MobilePro, however, you risk loosing data or experiencing system lockup or communications problems unless this update file is installed. If your MobilePro has been operating abnormally, this update file may be the solution.
How can I tell if I need to install the update file?
If you have a MobilePro 770 or 800, you need to install the update file.
Where do I get the update file?
Customers may download the update file from the Internet.
Are there any limitations to the update file?
Once installed, this update file resides in MobilePro memory. If both the main and backup batteries become exhausted, MobilePro memory may be erased. If this happens, all your data would also be lost, so it is important to follow backup procedures on a regular basis.
How can I prevent loss of the update file in the event my MobilePro gets reset?
Make a backup after installing the update file. It is always a good idea to keep backups of your important data and configuration settings.
